Overview
Mach3 Demo is a hands-on introduction to PC-based CNC control. It lets you load G-code, preview toolpaths, simulate motion, and explore operator workflows in a safe, non-production environment. Designed for evaluation, training, and classroom use, it helps new and experienced users understand the essentials of CNC machine operation before moving to a full, hardware-connected setup.

Key features

  • G-code loading and step-through execution for clear, controlled testing
  • 2D/3D toolpath preview with zoom, pan, and rotate for visual verification
  • Manual jogging with incremental and continuous modes
  • Basic homing, zeroing, and work coordinate management
  • Simulated E-stop, soft limits, and interlocks for safety practice
  • Spindle, feed, and coolant control panels (simulation)
  • Digital readouts (DROs) for position, feed rate, and spindle speed
  • On-screen MDI for quick command entry
  • Metric and imperial units, configurable machine profiles
  • Status logging to aid troubleshooting and learning

Who it’s for

  • Shops evaluating PC-based CNC control
  • Instructors and students in technical training programs
  • Operators transitioning to CNC or practicing workflows safely
  • Hobbyists exploring CNC fundamentals

Demo notes

  • Intended for evaluation and training only; not for production use
  • Motion and I/O operate in simulation mode by default
  • Certain advanced functions may be limited or disabled in the demo
  • Hardware-connected operation requires a licensed version and compatible motion hardware

Basic requirements

  • Windows PC with a modern CPU and OpenGL-capable graphics (for 3D preview)
  • Optional: supported motion hardware if testing beyond simulation

Getting started

  1. Install the demo and select simulation mode (or connect supported hardware).
  2. Load a sample G-code file.
  3. Review the toolpath in the preview window.
  4. Use single-block or optional stop to run safely and observe machine responses.
  5. Explore jogging, zeroing, and MDI to practice common workflows.

Safety
Always follow standard CNC safety practices. Do not leave machines unattended. Verify all setup steps and toolpaths before running on real hardware.
